The name change was in response to threats from American guitar companies to go to court to protect their copyrights. Tokai also made Fender replicas, the 'Springy Sound' (ST series, Fender Stratocaster replica) and the 'Breezy Sound' (TE series, Fender Telecaster replica).Both Stevie Ray Vaughan and Chuck Hammer played a 'Tokai Springy Sound' at one time. By the late 1970s, replicas of Fender guitars, such as the '.38 Special' guitar and the 'Hard Puncher' bass (replica of the Fender Precision Bass), began to be sold in Japan and Europe.^[4]

In 1983, Tokai introduced an aluminum-body guitar called the Talbo (Tokai Aluminum Body) which the band Devo played at one time. Tokai has its own instrument making factory and have built guitars for well-known brands under contract (OEM). Tokai and Dyna Gakki produced the Fender Japan solid-body models from 1997 until the end of the Fender Japan joint-venture in 2015.

Characteristics[edit]

The original selling price in Japanese yen is often included in the model number—for example TLS-100 = 100,000 Japanese yen. The higher priced Tokai Gibson replicas have nitrocellulose finishes and long tenon neck joints. Tokai guitars have been made in Japan, Korea and China. Korean production started around the mid-1990s. Tokai guitars made in Korea (MIK) are lower priced guitars, similar to the Korean Epiphone guitars. The MIK (Made in Korea) guitars can be differentiated by the truss rod cover. Japanese guitars have a two-screw truss rod cover whereas the Korean guitars have a three-screw truss rod cover (although some early Korean guitars also have two-screw truss rod covers). The MIK guitars usually have a different Nashville style bridge instead of the usual ABR-1 bridge. Furthermore, MIK Gibson replica guitars usually have a neck made from maple, and the body wood is usually made from either alder, agathis or nato.

Serial numbers[edit]

Tokai uses a seven-digit serial number usually pressed into the back of the headstock for the Gibson model replicas. Love Rocks use the first digit of the serial number for the year, 10XXXXX=1981 and starting in 1989 Love Rocks use the first two digits for the year, 89XXXXX=1989. Reborn models use only the first digit for the year, 800XXXX = 1978.

There is a major exception to this in that some 'Reborn Olds' (very rare) and 'Love Rock' models have inked serial numbers on the reverse of the headstock (often referred to as 'Inkies'). These guitars are, it is generally agreed, from 1980 (00xxxxx and 01xxxxx) and 1981 (11xxxxx) although there are those who would disagree with this.

Google has created a new tracking method called FLoC, put it in Chrome, and automatically turned it on for millions of users.
FLoC is bad for privacy: It puts you in a group based on your browsing history, and any website can get that group FLoC ID to target and fingerprint you.
You can use the DuckDuckGo Chrome extension to block FLoC's tracking, which is an enhancement to its tracker blocking and directly in line with the extension's single purpose of protecting your privacy holistically as you use Chrome.
DuckDuckGo Search (via our website duckduckgo.com) is now also configured to opt-out of FLoC, regardless if you use our extension or app.
What just happened?
If you're a Google Chrome user, you might be surprised to learn that you could have been entered automatically into Google's new tracking method called Federated Learning of Cohorts (FLoC). It groups you based on your interests and demographics, derived from your browsing history, to enable creepy advertising and other content targeting without third-party cookies. After a short trial period, Google decided not to make this new tracking method a user choice and instead started automatically including millions in the scheme. If you're reading this in Chrome while logged in to a Google account, yes, that likely means you too, and if not now, then eventually.
As a user, what can I do to avoid this?
The criteria for being opted into FLoC are somewhathidden and conflicting, but there are three methods for blocking FLoC:
Don't use Google Chrome! Right now FLoC is only in Google Chrome, and no other browser vendor has expressed an intention or even interest to implement it. There are various browsers that are free to download, and we recommend some in our guide to Google alternatives. On iOS or Android we suggest you use our own mobile browser, which offers best-in-class privacy protection by default when searching and browsing.
Install the DuckDuckGo Chrome extension. In response to Google automatically turning on FLoC, we've enhanced the tracker blocking in our Chrome extension to also block FLoC interactions on websites. This is directly in line with the single purpose of our extension of protecting your privacy holistically as you use your browser. It’s privacy, simplified. (If you use a non-Chrome browser, you can get our extension here.) The FLoC blocking feature is included in version 2021.4.8 and newer of the DuckDuckGo extension, which should auto-update, though you can also check the version you have installed from the extensions list within Chrome.
Change your Chrome and/or Google settings, which we recommend you do in any case if you continue to use Chrome. It seems (but Google isn't very clear about this so we aren't certain) that if you perform any of the following, then Google will exclude you from FLoC, at least for the time being. And as there are still many unknowns and things are changing rapidly, the effectiveness of these steps may change in future.
Stay logged out of your Google account;
Don't sync your history data with Chrome, or create a sync passphrase;
In Google Activity Controls, disable “Web & App Activity” or “Include Chrome history and activity from sites, apps, and devices that use Google services;”
In Google Ad Settings disable “Ad Personalization” or “Also use your activity & information from Google services to personalize ads on websites and apps that partner with Google to show ads.”

Phenomena observed, when running OSIS USB cameras using respective computers include:
• Camera is not recognized
• Camera initialization fails
• No live image observed
• Live image is corrupted
• Live image stream stops
The root cause of this failure is a hardware flaw in the Intel® 8 and Intel® 9 chipset itself. A description of the root cause is given by Intel® under: http://www.intel.com/content/dam/www/public/us/en/documents/specification-updates/8-series-chipset-pch-spec-update.pdf
While the description of the bug in Intel®’s documentation is rather complete (please refer to section ‘Errata’ starting at page 10), the bad news is, that Intel® has set all respective bugs to ‘No Plan to Fix’ which means the problems will persist for all Intel® 8 and Intel® 9 chipset based computers.

Identifying your computer’s chipset revision.
The respective information regarding the chipset of your computer is accessible using the ‘Device manager’ of your Windows® operating system. To open the device manager:
ü press the ‘Start’ button
ü select and press ‘Control Panel’

ü select and press ‘Device manager’
The device manager visualizes your computer’s devices using a tree view window. Scroll through this window until you find the entry ‘Universal Serial Bus controllers’. Expand this entry to receive a detailed view of your USB devices.
Next watch out for an entry starting with ‘ Intel® 8 Series ‘ or ‘ Intel® 9 Series ‘. If your computer does not have a respective entry containing the substring ‘ Intel® 8 Series ‘ or ‘ Intel® 9 Series ‘ your computer is not based on the affected chipset and you may skip the rest of this guide.
TO FIX THE PROBLEMS DESCRIBED ABOVE YOU HAVE THE FOLLOWING OPTIONS:
Fixing the problem for all USB 2 and USB 3.0 cameras ( LC10/LC20/
SC30/SC100 and SC50) by using a separate USB interface card
Please install the USB3.0 add on controller that is supplied with your OSIS USB camera. Make sure to connect the external power connector of the controller to the PC power supply (necessary cables are included). Install the latest original device drivers (not needed for Windows 8 and higher).
In case your camera was shipped without an add-on USB controller card, we recommend to use this controller board:
Delock PCI Express card 89243 2 x USB 3.0
Note:
There is a large variety of USB add-on controller cards available from different vendors supporting a wide range of different chipsets and drivers. Some of them may work, others may not. OSIS strongly suggests to only use the model recommended above.
The manufacturer of the card is not able to guaranty, that all USB add-on controllers do have the latest firmware flashed. In case of acquisition problems it is therefore strongly recommended to check the firmware version of the card to carry version 2024. To update the respective firmware, please download the latest firmware version from:

And proceed with the installation steps as given below:
• Extract the file after downloading it. It contains a file “K20XXFWUP1.EXE” and a TXT file containing the Release information
• Disconnect all USB devices connected from all USB3.0 ports.
• Execute 'K20XXFWUP1.EXE', read all messages carefully until you can proceed to Update the firmware
• Restart your computer
• Check with the device manager that the correct firmware was flashed. Expand “USB-Controller” and open RENESAS Electronics USB 3.0 Host Controller. Open the tab “Advanced”. If 'Firmware Version' is 2024 you succeed in updating the card.
Fixing the problem for USB2 cameras (LC10/LC20/SC30/SC100 only) by switching off onboard USB 3.0
Note:
Switching off USB 3.0 will force all connected USB 3.0 devices to use USB 2.0 only. This will probably slow down these devices.
Access the BIOS of your computer and try to find a respective entry which allows to configure your computer’s onboard USB support. Switch USB to support USB 2.0 only. This will force your onboard USB controller to support USB 2.0 devices only.
(Some BIOS versions name this option ”xHCI functionality” which has to be DISABLED. Alternatively, it could also be named “USB Debbuging”. In that case, this option has to be ENABLED. Please refer also to your mainboard reference manual for additional information)
Save the new BIOS settings and reboot your computer.

Computer crashes with 'KMode exception not handled'
This is a problem of the Logitech Mouse driver. If you remove the USB mouse and start windows, there should be no problem. You can plug in the mouse at the log-in screen and start windows without any problems. To avoid these problems, there are two possibilities:
Connect a PS/2 mouse instead of an USB mouse
Remove the Logitech driver and use the standard Microsoft driver
Loading images stored as JPEG-without-compression is not possible with third party applications
There are only a handful of programs available on the market which can handle this special JPEG-without-compression format. To save such lossless images please use the uncompressed TIF format this can be read by many applications.
Loading 16-bit images in other applications is not possible if the images were stored with the image analysis software
Many applications, like Adobe Photoshop or Microsoft Word, only support a small variety of possible TIF standards. They don’t support the 16-bit TIF image format. You have to switch the color depth of such images to 8-bit or 24-bit using the image analysis software.

Overview¶
All Nordic nRF5x Development Kits, Preview Development Kits and Dongles are equippedwith a Debug IC (Atmel ATSAM3U2C) which provides the following functionality:

Segger J-Link Software Installation¶
To install the J-Link Software and documentation pack, follow the steps below:
Download the appropriate package from the J-Link Software and documentation pack[10] website
Depending on your platform, install the package or run the installer
When connecting a J-Link-enabled board such as an nRF5x DK, PDK or dongle, adrive corresponding to a USB Mass Storage device as well as a serial port should come up
nRF5x Command-Line Tools Installation¶
The nRF5x command-line Tools allow you to control your nRF5x device from the command line,including resetting it, erasing or programming the flash memory and more.
To install them, use the appropriate link for your operating system:
After installing, make sure that nrfjprog is somewhere in your executable pathto be able to invoke it from anywhere.
Flashing¶
To program the flash with a compiled Zephyr image after having followed the instructionsto install the Segger J-Link Software and the nRF5x Command-Line Tools, follow the steps below:
Download the drivers and Extract them to the same folder. Remember the folder you extracted them to. Try to HotSync your device. Connect the micro-USB cable to the nRF5x board and to your computer
Erase the flash memory in the nRF5x IC:

USB CDC ACM Serial Port Setup¶
Important note: An issue with Segger J-Link firmware on the nRF5x boards might causedata loss and/or corruption on the USB CDC ACM Serial Port on some machines.To work around this disable the Mass Storage Device on your board as described in Disabling the Mass Storage Device functionality.
Windows¶
The serial port will appear as COMxx. Simply check the “Ports (COM & LPT)” sectionin the Device Manager.
GNU/Linux¶
The serial port will appear as /dev/ttyACMx. By default the port is not accessible to all users.Type the command below to add your user to the dialout group to give it access to the serial port.Note that re-login is required for this to take effect.
To avoid it being taken by the Modem Manager for a few seconds when you plug the board in:
Apple macOS (OS X)¶
The serial port will appear as /dev/tty.usbmodemXXXX.
Disabling the Mass Storage Device functionality¶
Due to a known issue in Segger’s J-Link firmware, depending on your operating systemand version you might experience data corruption or drops if you use the USB CDCACM Serial Port with packets larger than 64 bytes.This has been observed on both GNU/Linux and macOS (OS X).
To avoid this, you can simply disable the Mass Storage Device by opening:
On GNU/Linux or macOS (OS X) JLinkExe from a terminal
On Microsoft Windows the “JLink Commander” application
And then typing the following:
And finally unplugging and replugging the board. The Mass Storage Device shouldnot appear anymore and you should now be able to send long packets over the virtual Serial Port.Further information from Segger can be found in the Segger SAM3U Wiki[5].
RTT Console¶
Segger’s J-Link supports Real-Time Tracing (RTT)[6], a technology that allows a terminalconnection (both input and output) to be established between the target (nRF5x board)and the development computer for logging and input. Zephyr supports RTT on nRF5x targets,which can be very useful if the UART (through USB CDC ACM) is already being used fora purpose different than logging (such as HCI traffic in the hci_uart application).To use RTT, you will first need to enable it by adding the following lines in your .conf file:
If you get no RTT output you might need to disable other consoles which conflictwith the RTT one if they are enabled by default in the particular sample orapplication you are running. For example, to disable the UART console,add this to your .conf file:

Three components cooperate to achieve that:
In the Device Manager right pane, locate and expand Portable Devices or Other Devices, depending on which one you see. Right-click the name of the device you connected, and then select Update Driver Software. In the Hardware Update wizard, select Browse my computer for driver software and click Next. The package provides the installation files for FTDI USB Serial Port Driver version 2.12.16.0. If the driver is already installed on your system, updating (overwrite-installing) may fix various issues, add new functions, or just upgrade to the available version.
WO Mic App which runs on phone. It captures your voice through phone microphone and transmit them to computer.
WO Mic Client which runs on computer. It connects to app, receives voice data and passes them to virtual mic device.

2.1 Install app on phone

2.2 Install client on PC
Download and run the setup program to install the client.

WO Mic device drivers are available for Win7/8/10. Supported processors are x86 and x64.

Once the driver is installed successfully, WO Mic device will be created automatically. Follow these steps to check if the device exists and is working properly:
Press Windows + X and click Device Manager in the pop menu.
In Device Manager, go to Sound, video and game controllers.

3. User guide
3.1 Choose transport
Depending on system, different transports may be selected as the communication channel between your phone and computer:
iPhone: Wi-Fi
Android: USB, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and Wi-Fi Direct
Choose appropriate transport you shall use.
3.1.1 USB transport
We recommend USB transport whenever possible, as it is more robust than wireless connections. It also has lower latency and higher bit rate. To use USB connection, follow these:
Connect your phone and PC via an USB cable.
Enable USB debugging on Android phone.
On PC, install right USB driver for your phone. You may consult your vendor for that.
If all have been done well, your phone is identified as one USB device with name 'ADB Interface':
Press Windows + X and click Device Manager in the pop menu.
In Device Manager, go to Universal Serial Bus devices.
In the list, you are expected to find something like ADB Interface.
3.2 Configure and start server on phone
Launch WO Mic on phone. Before staring the server, you can go to Settings to configure what you prefer.
3.2.1 Transport option
Select the transport you would. Requirements for each transport:
USB transport. ADB Interface should be seen as described in 3.1.1; otherwise it will report no device can be detected.
Bluetooth. Pair your phone with computer if you haven't done that. Turn on Bluetooth on both phone and computer.
Wi-Fi. Turn on Wi-Fi on both phone and computer and connect them to same hotspot.
Wi-Fi Direct. Turn on SoftAP on phone and connect PC to this AP.
3.2.2 Control port option
This port number should be same as in client; otherwise, connection will fail. If no special reasons, don't change it.
Note media port can only be configured in client. It shall be synced to server when making connection.
3.2.3 Audio source option
There are 5 mic modes. Due to different Android phone hardware and OEM customization, not all modes may be supported on your phone. Even some are supported, they may not have same effect as described here. So please take below mode description as a hint and explore each mode on your phone to select appropriate one.
Default. Phone embedded microphone.
Mic mode 1. Try this if you want to use external wired headset.
Mic mode 2. Try this if there are echoes with other modes.
Mic mode 3. Try this if you will speak at a long distance or noisy environment.
Rear mic. Try this if you want to better capture sound from back.
3.2.4 Start server
Once all have been configured, go to main UI and press Start button to start server. If it prompts not enough permission, grant microphone or audio record permission to this app.
Once the state changes to Started or Connectable, the server is ready to accept connection request from client.
3.3 Connect from client

On Windows, follow these steps to connect:
Launch WO Mic client. If you meet 'MSVCP140.dll is missing' or similar error on Win7/8/8.1, please either upgrade your Windows, or install KBA2999226 and KBA3118401 from Microsoft.
Select Connection ->Connect..
In connect dialog, select same transport type as you did on phone in 3.2.
In Details pane, specify auxiliary connection parameters:
Bluetooth. Select the phone Bluetooth name in the dropdown list.
USB. None.
Wi-Fi. Enter the IP address shown on server.
Wi-Fi Direct. Enter the IP address of SoftAP. Use the default if you don't know what it is.
Click Connect.
Once client shows to be connected, audio data captured by phone will be streamed to computer.
3.4 Verify streaming is going well
Before using WO Mic device, you may want first to verify audio is being streamed correctly from phone to PC. To do that, play received audio data directly:
Click Options menu in WO Mic client.
Enable Play in speaker.
Unmute PC speaker.
If everything goes well, you can hear sound captured by phone.

Using Point Grey cameras with MATLAB^® and Simulink^®, you can directly capture live video and images into your image processing and computer vision workflows.
MathWorks provides a support package that installs all required third party software. If you are unable to use the Point Grey support package, some of these cameras also support common vision standards. Check your specific camera model for hardware compatibility with your platform.
Choosing Between Manufacturer and Industry Standard Support
Point Grey support uses the Point Grey Fly Capture Driver, enabling all supported functionality for Point Grey cameras. However, this is only supported on Microsoft Windows. To work on other platforms, use the industry standard support for your camera model. If your camera or frame grabber is supported by both the industry standard and the manufacturer, it is recommended that you use the manufacturer support.
